We enjoyed a week in Croatia and Slovenia and were impressed how both countries have embraced EU membership and emerged from 'communist' Yugoslavia. We spent time in Zagreb then Opatijah in Croatia where we felt the influence of neighbouring Italy and the Mediterranean coast and then Bled and Ljubljana in Slovenia which are perhaps more Austrian.
